Attractions in Indianapolis

High-speed, history, sports and good old Hoosier hospitality are a few reasons to put Indianapolis on your list of great getaways. From the legendary Indianapolis 500 to the Pacers and the Colts, the city offers abundant opportunities to watch professional and amateur sporting events. If you’d like to learn more about the history of the Indy Speedway, visit the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum where you can tour the famous track. If there is a race in town, try and reserve tickets. Another sports museum to put on your list is the NCAA Hall of Champions.

When traveling with your kids in tow, you will still find tons to do in and around the city. History, art, and other cultural attractions abound. Visit the Children's Museum or check out the Indianapolis Zoo. Indianapolis is known as the "Crossroads of America," more interstate highways bisect Indianapolis than any other city in the country, making it an exciting and easily accessible destination. Indianapolis Motor Speedway

If you are looking for speed, you will want to visit the Indianapolis Motor Speedway! Memorial Day Weekend brings the internationally acclaimed Indy 500 to the Brickyard in Indianapolis, and it's the most exciting speed race event of the year. This 200-lap race celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2011, and the drivers battle to win the $1 million Borg-Warner Trophy, along with a huge cash prize. If you’re not able to be there for the Indy 500, there are plenty of other races to attend throughout the year.

Indianapolis Zoo

The Indianapolis Zoo is home to over 2,000 animals and Indiana's largest aquarium. This 64-acre zoo has lions, elephants and other wild animals roaming through natural settings. A special petting area allows children to touch, but not feed, the tamer animals. There's also the world's largest enclosed dolphin show and a roller-coaster for all ages to enjoy. Walk with the flamingos, go face-to-face with a tiger, or touch a shark; these unique animal encounters are available for everyone and make the Indianapolis Zoo a must-see attraction on your Indianapolis list.

Eagle Creek Park is one of the largest city parks in the nation, offering unmatched opportunities for recreation, enjoyment, and discovery of nature only minutes from our hotel.  Eagle Creek has a wide variety of facilities and programs to enjoy, including Plunge Harbor Swimming area, Go Ape treetop adventures and zip line, Eagle Creek Golf Course, Eagle Creek Sailing Club, and Rick’s Boatyard Café.
