Indianapolis Motor Speedway
If you are looking for speed, you will want to visit the Indianapolis Motor Speedway! Memorial Day Weekend brings the internationally acclaimed Indy 500 to the Brickyard in Indianapolis, and it's the most exciting speed race event of the year. This 200-lap race celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2011, and the drivers battle to win the $1 million Borg-Warner Trophy, along with a huge cash prize. If you’re not able to be there for the Indy 500, there are plenty of other races to attend throughout the year.
Indianapolis Zoo
The Indianapolis Zoo is home to over 2,000 animals and Indiana's largest aquarium. This 64-acre zoo has lions, elephants and other wild animals roaming through natural settings. A special petting area allows children to touch, but not feed, the tamer animals. There's also the world's largest enclosed dolphin show and a roller-coaster for all ages to enjoy.
